A week out from the first weekend of Coachella and I should be back to normal by now, but I’m still stuck on photos and reliving memories.  Day 1 was a little chaotic dealing with longer lines, walks and waits, ridiculous Uber fairs, and getting a feel of the festival grounds, which was a complete sensory overload to a first timer.  I remember how overwhelming and distracting everything was from seeing all of the lights and colors, to smelling all sorts of fried and grilled food and feeling all of the vibrations from tents jumping with music and people.   There was so much to do in only 2 and a half days.

Saturday was my favorite day of the weekend.  The weather was cooler, our timing and transportation felt better planned, and I felt more comfortable with myself and surroundings.  I remember feeling more relaxed and appreciating down time with friends.  I took more photos and spent a good amount of time at the Relfection (sel)Field with the crew – an area with mirrored art installations that light up at night.  A few of my favorite sets were also on Saturday – Kid Cudi, Lorde, Pharrell.  Pharrell’s set felt like it’s own concert when he brought out everyone from Nelly and Snoop Dogg to Diplo and Gwen Stefani and many more.  On top of surprise guests, I snuck off to catch a bit of Solange’s set and was able to see Beyonce at the end! Only downfall to Saturday was having to leave early when the sandstorms started to really kick in, which none of us were prepared for.

Out of everything I learned from Coachella, I would encourage everyone to get lost and enjoy it.  Some of my favorite moments were spent wandering and people watching and weaving through crowded pits to get as close to the front row as possible.  It’s a different experience to literally lose yourself in the music and moment.

Just wanted to give a very special thanks to Restricted Shoes for making my first Coachella experience extra memorable and stylish.  I had an amazing time taking over their Instagram all weekend to bring you all along to the desert with me.  Til our next adventure!

xo,
Kate
